Charlotte is among my earliest design projects and was completed through its full realization.

The project draws inspiration from Charlotte Perriand’s Bibliothèque Mexique, which also gave it its name. I designed and built the piece myself, from initial concept to final realization: a coffee table–bookcase assembled entirely through interlocking parts, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly. The top and bottom panels are made of laminated beech, while the inner structure is constructed from plywood. The slot on the upper level is a deliberate design feature that reveals and emphasizes the interlocking system as an integral part of the

form.

harlotte is my first design project realized in real life. After recycling an old idea, I drew inspiration from Charlotte Perriand’s Bibliothèque Mexique, which gave the project its name. I created a coffee table–bookcase assembled entirely through interlocking parts, to prevent damage during moves. Made entirely by myself, the top and bottom panels are laminated beech, while the inner structure is plywood. The slot on the upper level is a deliberate design feature that reveals and emphasizes the interlocking system as part of its form.
